Please read the following scholarship qualifications:
- The applicant must be a female in the 12th grade, must attend high school in the Boston Metrowest area, and must intend to pursue a degree in vocal performance or music education with a vocal concentration.
- Scholarship finalists are chosen by audition. The applicant must prepare two classical pieces (no musical theater, please) for the audition. One piece should be in English and the other in a language of the singer’s choice.
- The applicant must bring an accompanist or a recorded accompaniment. An MP3 (IPOD) connection will be provided.
- Auditions will occur at Fisk Memorial United Methodist Church on Saturday, March 24 between 9:30 – 1:00. Applicants will be contacted and assigned a specific time to perform. (Fisk Church is located at 106 Walnut St. in Natick MA 01760)
- Call-back auditions for finalists will be held on Wednesday, April 4 at 7:00pm, also at Fisk Church. Call-backs are open to the singer’s family and The A Cappella Singer members.
- One scholarship winner will be chosen from the finalists. In addition to the $500 scholarship, the winner is also invited to perform with The A Cappella Singer’s at the Spring Concert on May 5 at Fisk Church.
- All information must be completed on the following application form in order for an audition to be scheduled.
Application deadline is March 10, 2012. - A parent’s signature will be required at the time of the initial audition.
