Posted in FOR MEMBERS on September 23rd, 2011 by ACS — Comments Off

Welcome to The A Cappella Singers!

Mission Statement

To stimulate interest in and appreciation of music, to provide an opportunity for musically qualified women to receive instruction in and engage in the singing of choral music under professional direction, and to do all other things which are necessary and proper to promote its musical purposes, including the public or private performance of concerts, the support, encouragement or operation of music schools or instruction, or music-related activities.

Membership Rights and Responsibilities

Members of The A Cappella Singers agree to:

  1. Be prepared musically for each rehearsal, to the best of your ability.
  2. Attend all rehearsals and be prepared to begin singing at 7:00 pm. To insure that all are able to concentrate, members are asked to refrain from unnecessary talking during rehearsals.
  3. In the event of illness or some other unavoidable absence, members will call their section leader to report the absence before 6:30pm on the day of the rehearsal so that rehearsal adjustment may be made. Un-explained absences will be followed up by the President and Music Director, if necessary.
  4. Members are responsible for obtaining all musical markings from a missed rehearsal from their section leader. Members will be expected to obtain these markings outside of rehearsal time, and prior to the next rehearsal of the missed pieces. See the bulletin board for information on which pieces were rehearsed the previous week.
  5. The Music Director has discretionary authority to evaluate a member’s preparedness for upcoming concerts if more than three (3) rehearsals are missed. Participation in the season’s concert after three or more such misses is at the discretion of the Music Director.

The A Cappella Singers Organizational Summary

The business of The A Cappella Singers is managed by a Board of Directors that includes the President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Publicity Chair, Concert Coordinator, Membership Chair and Librarian. The board meets at least 4 times a year.

Annual Meeting
